Unique Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Not so long ago I happened to visit the fabulous place of Bavaria, the city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The city is located near the border with Austria, in a valley at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, surrounded on all sides by the mountains of the Bavarian Alps, at the foot of the highest peak in Germany – Mount Zugspitze, whose height is 2962 meters above sea level. The Loisach River, a tributary of Isar, flows through the city. The population is 25 thousand people, whose main activity is work in the field of tourism.

To get to Garmisch-Partenkirchen is best from Munich by bus or train, which leaves from the main station of Munich every hour. And thanks to the travel agency “Come with us”, a transfer was directly arranged for us from their Munich airport to our destination.

On the way, we admired the local landscapes, and at the entrance to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, our eyes opened up to the impressive beauty of the winter Bavarian Alps and, of course, Mount Zugspitze. Continue reading
